Oak Kitchen Cabinet Re-Spray

Golden oak kitchen cabinets are sturdy and well-built — they just don’t suit every kitchen’s palette anymore. For this Plymouth kitchen, every door and drawer front came off site to be finished in a controlled space, while the frames stayed in place for spraying. Because oak is notorious for tannins bleeding through paint, we started with a dedicated shellac primer on any raw or lower-cabinet surfaces prone to discoloration, followed by a bonding primer, careful spackling, and a full sand before two coats of Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane satin enamel sprayed on for a smooth, durable finish. Hardware went back on last. It’s the kind of transformation that makes a kitchen feel new without touching a single wall or countertop.
